Sudakov, Pavel F., Moscow

*1914      +

Sudakov is essentially a genre painter concerned with histitical themes, but he is just as much interested in executing portraits of working people and of leading figures in science and culture.
Portraits, landscapes, still lifes–all bring before us the world of the painter’s creative aspirations, the world of the inimitable Russian nature and the Russian man.
Sudakov is best known for employing a historical-revolutionary theme in his works but also did contemporary-themed paintings of landscapes and still-lives. He is a member of the governing council and member of the secretarial council of the Artists’ Guild of Russia. He is Chairman of the Division of painting of the Artists Guild of Russia, a member of the Art Council of the Organization of War Veteran Painters in Honor of M.B. Grekov.
